Includes deeds and patent papers, general correspondence, 1920-1949; correspondence by subject, 1925-1935; executive and management consultant reports, 1960's; construction records; and machinery improvement records, 1912-1964. Also contains financial records, including statements of accounts, 1937-1949; ledgers, 1864-1888, 1907-1911, and 1961-1965; daybooks, 1909-1917; cash books, 1903-1912; and records of accounts receivable and payable, 1920's, 1950's and 1960's. Purchasing records include orders, 1898-1927 and 1870-1905, and purchasing of iron and coal, 1895-1918, and pig iron and steel, 1914-1935. Production records include inventories, 1914-1937, and production specifications by subject, 1911-1915, and 1930's-1960's. Sales records contain order books, 1865-1910; machinery sales, 1901-1958; and registers listing supply sales and erecting charges. Also included are payrolls, 1894-1976, and employment cards, 1936-1966. Miscellaneous records include financial accounts of boarding houses, 1924-1954, Whitinsville Golf Club papers, and information about the estate of Charles P. Whitin, 1890-1893.
